Meet Aimee Lee Perkins – Owner of The Pearl Handle

Welcome to The Pearl Handle!

I’m Aimee Perkins, I couldn’t be more excited to bring a high-end barbershop experience to the heart of the Hill Country.

A California native with deep Texas roots, I’ve spent over 15 years calling this great state home. My journey has been anything but conventional—starting with an internationally published modeling career that took me around the world, leading me to a passion for the hair industry. I’m a dual-licensed barber and cosmetologist, trained at Paul Mitchell Austin and San Antonio, and have been proudly licensed since 2014. Before that, I worked in nursing and hospitality, always drawn to careers centered around service and connection.

During my high school years, I attended The Rebekah Home for Girls, an all-girls Southern Baptist boarding school in Corpus Christi, part of the Lester Roloff Homes. It was there that I found a deep love for the Lord and spent my summers traveling across the South, singing in the choir at summer revivals. That experience shaped my faith, my resilience, and my appreciation for the power of community—values I carry into everything I do today.

Outside of the barbershop, I’m a proud mom to two amazing boys—Rylan, 13, who attends Blanco, plays football, and runs track, and Jack, 10, who’s currently living the cowboy life on the famous King’s Ranch while never losing his love for all things robots. Our Goldendoodle, Roger, completes the family.

For me, barbering is more than just cutting hair—it’s about providing an experience. In a fast-paced world, self-care is more important than ever. It’s not just about looking good, but about feeling great. My goal with The Pearl Handle is to create a space where tradition meets luxury, where every client is welcomed with warmth, precision, and top-notch service.

Fantastic experience. When I arrived at my scheduled appointment, Aimee was waiting on me ready to go. There is something to be said about 1 client at a time..this assured I was the center of attention with No distractions. I received a nice relaxing cut and eyebrow trim with my choice of music. Next was a beard trim and hot towel service. With the chair leaned back I was incredibly comfortable while Aimee went to work. After the beard trim and shave came another hot towel. Then I was taken to the shampoo area where I received a shampoo and scalp massage (this was NON rushed) and another hot towel. For me, the shampoo and scalp massage are the best part of the service. Afterwards it was back to the chair for some hair product and style. The entire experience and attention to detail was unmatched. The shop is quietly tucked away in the small town AWAY from loud cars and noisy city life. I took advantage of all the hair services so I was there for about an hour. When I left, I was totally refreshed and ready to start my day.
